How can I find out the history and origin of my family name?
Brice or Bryce is a Scottish surname. It may be also found elsewhere. Get a copy of The Surnames of Scotland by George. F. Black from your library and it will tell you the origins etc.
Reply:If you want to know the history and origin of your family name on the computer ,you can go to www.dueinckx.com/Ofamily.html.Or if you want to do some leg work .Go to your nearest library and ask the librarian for help. Good Luck And God Bless Your Efforts.
Reply:First talk to your family and get as much background as you can..then try Geneology.com or Ancestors.com..if you already haven't..it's been awhile since I've done this...but seems like one of those sites or poss. both were pretty good. Good Luck
Reply:Try www.usgenweb.org-it is a free genealogy site with loads of information. You can also go to a surname registry to find others with your last name. One of the best sites on the web and there are state specific sites to help you out with any additional questions.
