What is the national origin of the last name "Sinise"...as in actor Gary Sinise?

Gary Sinise was born in Illinois and I've skimmed his profile on IMDb but could not immediately locate any comment regarding the roots of his last name. Do you happen to know which country of origin would the name "Sinise" come from? And if you happen to know what country Gary Sinise attests that his family was originally from, that would be helpful information too. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

What is the national origin of the last name "Sinise"...as in actor Gary Sinise?
A few years ago he was recognized, along with Joe Mantegna, by an Italian-American group in Chicago (up on the west side around Lawrence and Cumberland). The local news (WLS) did a nice story on Gary Sinise's family coming from Italy and laid out his heritage. He's very much Italian on his dad's side.
Reply:its italian. he used to live down the street Report Abuse

Reply:Could not find the meaning of the name Sinise but checked US immigration records and 100% of the many records I checked had the country of origin as ITALY.

So I would suspect it's Italian (duhhh).
Reply:It's actually dwarfish. On screen they use special camera angles to make him look taller. It's the authentic dwarfish spelling of "sneezy".

No, actually it's Italian.
