What do you think about this Indian origin name for a boy?

Vishal--pronounced as Vish-aal.

What do you think about this Indian origin name for a boy?
I think it sounds OK and people will probably be able to mostly pronounce it correctly from the spelling. Also, it depends on what country you live in and what your ethnic background is. The more it fits in with the other people surrounding him the easier it will be for others to use.
Reply:Sounds very Indian.

I would wonder if the boy doesn't look Indian, but on the other hand... I suppose anything is allowed.

In Finland one may not name one's child with a clearly foreign name unless there's a close connection to that culture/tradition.
Reply:I think it sounds ok. I like the how the name is prounced like it is spelled as well.
Reply:I actually like it.
Reply:It is fine if your heritage is Indian otherwise nah!

In languages, it means the great expance, wid, brod and spacious. But not to refer to size. The meaning comes closer to grand or great. There is no exact translation of vishal in English. A few interpretations are immense, Unstoppable One, One Who Dreams Impossible Dreams, or One Who Reaches for the Sky and is Creative Beyond All Dreams.
