I would really like to know.
What is the origin of the name Biewald?
Sounds German considering that the last four letters "wald" means "forest" in German (pronouced VALD).
Back in the old days, people got their last names because of a certain attribute they had or of their profession. Someone whose last name is "Schlosser" may mean that his ancestor was a tool-maker (Schlosser means either tool or toolman).
Reply:Definitely German, possibly a place name. There is a hotel and a restaurant with that name in Friedland.
Reply:a german term to bond two metals together
