Looking for the origin of the name Tittle, can anyone help?

We found that the first generation of Tittles came from England in the 1700's, but that is as far back as we were able to get so far. I would love it if someone knew anything of the Tittles in England. I am a decendant of Anthony Tittle.

Looking for the origin of the name Tittle, can anyone help?
Originally from Greenland , a man called Tle wandered the ice fields for years on end pondering the unanswerable . When he was aroused one morning , by birdsong , he was taken aback and leapt ferosiusly into a stream where he bathed in waters of 'wintered wine' (ahem) . From then on onlookers adressed him as Tittl the Beard , later shortened to just Tittl and then lengthened to Tittle to accomodate a wandering e that had lost favour with other vowels and was itself wandering lonely .
